LIKE TOURIST, LIKE TRAVELLER

A critical artefact designed to provoke reflection and debate about the ethical implications that come with travelling. As the tourism industry commodifies vulnerable ecosystems, cultural practices and lifestyles, the designed platform treats individual experiences as goods to be sold. On liketourist.com booking holidays becomes an experience where interactions and aesthetics are designed to tease the costumer and to awaken a sense of responsibility.

The resulting website is intentionally designed to achieve low carbon footprint, prioritizing environmental sustainability through efficient design practices and minimal energy consumption for a greener digital experience.

STAUNING ‘84: SPEDIZIONE ROMANA GROENLANDIA ORIENTALE. 72° PARALLELO.

The book reconstructs a scientific-alpinism expedition on Greenland’s East Coast in 1984 by putting together documents, pictures and maps found in a family archive. Through oral storytelling, it has been possible to reconstruct the events and translate them into a more accessible form that can be also appreciated outside of our family dimension. The archive provides readers with technical insights into planning, travel, and stay, along with a personal and emotional connection to the expedition. Through visual and material features, the design reflects the qualities of the original archive and the characteristic of the geographical territory.
